Our facilities include a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory, an offsite light industrial space for fabrication and prototype testing, and an engineering field testing team and location in India.
Our 2100-sq. ft customized laboratory space is designed specifically for experimentation with human excreta, including multiple fume hoods and odor control snorkels, a class II A2 biosafety cabinet, and a negative pressure room. The laboratory includes versatile and reconfigurable wet bench space able to house prototype systems and perform a variety of chemical and biological assessments of system performance. The facility maintains IRB protocols for the collection of human feces and urine, and BSL-2 protocols for handling excreta as well as select bacteria, viruses, and intestinal parasite ova.
