Fecal Sludge Drying

Dried Sludge

Fecal sludge is persnickety, to say the least. Team member Katelyn Sellgren joined a panel of experts for a webinar to explore the difficulties researchers face in the drying of fecal sludge and to discuss potential solutions to these challenges. Fecal sludge is pathogen-rich and drying mitigates the risk of pathogen transmission. As such, it's one approach in the arsenal researchers are deploying to improve waste treatment. The webinar was sponsored by the International Water Association and hosted by Santiago Septien from the Pollution Research Group at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. We hope the approaches shared during the webinar can be of use to others in the field. The webinar is available for viewing at https://lnkd.in/eWbm7w8.
